About Denise Wright

Denise Wright is a strong, sweet woman.

Denise has lived a life of:

Hard Work

Faith

Pure Charity

Denise Wright gave her five children what Amy Chua, in her book titled The Triple Package, described as being “the triple package” which consists of:

  • Superiority Complex – The belief in their ability to do great things in life and reach for the stars.  She instilled in them a confidence that through hard work, they could be exceptional in all things.

  • Insecurity – An intense feeling of needing to live up to all of the blessings, opportunities and advantages that they had been given.  She taught her children to never be satisfied.   Denise taught her children that unless they looked after those around them the opportunities that they had been given in life would halt their progression and that they would be held accountable for not sharing.

  • Impulse Control - A fundamental understanding that with hard work, you can do anything you want to do in life.   Denise taught her children to have grit and persevere.

Denise has a strong testimony and knowledge of the fact that a man named Jesus Christ came to earth over 2,000 years ago.   While here, He taught how to live a life full of charity and caring.   He taught, through example, how to care for those on the margins.   Denise has always known that this Jesus then performed an act, the Atonement, that will enable her to be free from the effects of her sins and be resurrected and live with those she loves.

Denise has lived her life in gratitude for these blessings that came from the Son of God.

Colin Wright, Denise Wright’s third child, served a mission in Trujillo Peru in 1998 and 1999. This mission changed his life. The qualities that his mom instilled in him, during his 19 years in her home, made all the difference:

Hard Work and Efficiency – Colin did not waste any time on his mission.  Colin understood the urgency of the message and the limited time.

Love of the Gospel – Colin leaned on Denise’s testimony until he could develop his own. He knew that his mother knew that it was true and that was enough.

Charity – Colin knew that the greatest gift that could be given to the residents of Peru is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   Colin followed his mom’s example and worked every day to share this precious gift with others.

Colin returned home from that mission in January of 2000 forever changed by his experiences as a missionary and the people of Peru.

Colin Wright was born and raised in Kaysville, Utah.  Colin was the middle of five children and was raised by amazing parents, Denise and Gary Wright.   In that home, Colin learned about charity, the true nature of Christ, obedience, hard work, service, the importance of education, impulse control and humility.

After graduating from High School, God called Colin to serve in the Trujillo Peru mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Chimbote, where spent two years teaching the people about Jesus Christ and His restored Gospel. While there, Colin learned about Christ and His restored Church. Colin met some of the greatest people in the world. Upon returning from his mission, Colin married his High School sweetheart, Randi Wright. They are the parents of five children.

Colin received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Utah and Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. Colin was named to Utah Business’ and Professional Builders’ 40 under 40. Colin Wright founded C.W. Group in 2016 and currently oversees all seven business lines (www.cwgroup.com).

Because of his many “unearned” blessings Colin feels an immense burden to share the blessings that he has been given and has the immense desire of creating Denis Wright Scholarship as a gratitude of his mom’s teachings.
