From a very young age Mayavel, had some interactions with Physiotherapists as she accompanied her older brother to his sessions, every instruction and procedure that was indicated to her, she replicated it and helped her brother in his recovery at home. This made her discover the great change that a Physiotherapist can make in people's lives and motivated her to take the decision to also study this career.

Mayavel has served as Relief Society Secretary, counselor for her ward's Primary organization and has been an institute teacher at the church.

Her dream job is to run her own therapy centre, so that she can contribute her knowledge and experience to the community and their families all over Peru.
